UX/UI Designer Parental Leave Cover

Great to have you here!

We are farbenmeer, a team of fourteen based in and around Hamburg and Berlin. We develop web applications and optimize existing software for clients like Engagement Global, KommMit, Otto, Xing, Smava, Caspar Health, and Accenture. Creating a workspace that is worth living in and inclusive is just as important to us as individual, modern, and sustainable digital solutions. We want everyone to be heard and seen so they can work in the way that suits them best. We currently support our clients with 7 developers, 4 designers, and 3 project managers. Due to an upcoming parental leave, we are now looking for reinforcement in our design & concept department as soon as possible.

This is you

  • You already have deep expertise in digital product development, UX concept design, or UI design.

  • You never lose sight of the end-user's perspective in your work.

  • You speak and understand enough German to communicate in everyday work life. English is also an advantage, but not a must.

  • You enjoy lending a helping hand to less experienced colleagues.

  • You are good at organizing and structuring yourself and your tasks.

  • Most importantly: You don't have to be an expert in every single point—interest and passion for the job count more to us than degrees or portfolios.

This is your journey at farbenmeer

  • You enthusiastically guide projects from the initial brainstorming phase right through to implementation and beyond.

  • You enjoy working autonomously or in cross-functional teams to achieve defined goals.

  • Depending on your experience, your salary can range from €55,000 to €70,000/year (full-time).

  • Together, we regularly look at your strengths, give each other professional feedback, and map out potential for further development.

This is farbenmeer

  • Exciting Projects: We regularly have new, exciting projects, which we divide among ourselves individually based on strengths and interests.

  • Pragmatic Agility: For us, working agilely does not mean dogmatically sticking to Scrum, but finding the best possible way to a great product in a pleasant team atmosphere.

  • Flexible Work Styles: We have beautiful offices in the heart of Hamburg and Berlin, but depending on personal needs, we also work remotely from home or do workations within Europe.

  • Your Gear, Your Choice: Everyone chooses the equipment that works best for them—from the laptop to a standing desk for the home office.

  • Fair Compensation: We pay fair wages and are constantly working to improve our compensation model. We also provide financial support for part-time working parents and caregiving relatives.

  • Perks & Benefits: We are always open to ideas for tax-optimized benefits. Some of us commute to work with a "Jobrad" (company bike), others use a company smartphone or take advantage of the fitness subsidy at Urban Sports Club.

  • Continuous Growth: We pursue regular further education, attend national and international industry conferences, and share our knowledge with one another.

  • Human-Centric Working Hours: Our working hour models are tailored to us as human beings—ranging from a 4-day week to finishing work in time for daycare pick-up.

"

Our Weekly Culture: Every workday starts with a Daily Meeting before we split up into current projects. To wrap up the week, we dedicate "farbenmeer Friday" to the team and personal development. Once a month, whenever possible, we meet on-site in Berlin or Hamburg for a Team Day, and once a year, we head out into nature together for our "Intuition Days" to let new ideas grow.

Diversity & Inclusion

We stand for equality and against discrimination. We are particularly pleased to receive applications from people who experience structural discrimination, such as BIPoC, FLINTA*, people with a history of migration (including family background), people with disabilities, people with chronic illnesses, and people discriminated against due to their religion or ethnic origin. We also welcome applications from people of all ages.

Our office in Berlin is virtually barrier-free: there is a ground-level elevator, and all areas are fully accessible without restrictions. In addition, we try to create individually suitable workspaces by equipping home offices and/or renting co-working spaces. When it comes to diversity, we regularly educate ourselves to offer all colleagues a place where they can feel safe. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this topic, please feel free to reach out to us.

Sounds good to you?

Then please send us your current CV without a photo and an informal cover letter. We will usually get back to you within two weeks to arrange an initial interview at our office or online if there is mutual interest.

If it feels like a good fit for both sides, the next step is a small design challenge. In the final step, you will get to know the whole team, and together we will think about which upcoming projects might suit you best. That is also why there is no exact start date listed here—instead, we decide together when the best time is for you to start with us.

We look forward to hearing from you!
